Q. Who does MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman provide services to?

A. We provide our services to a variety of Residential and Business Industries.

 Working with Homeowners / Office Managers at their place of residence / business along with any rental property that they may manage/own in the coverage area and occasionally beyond our coverage area .

We partnership with Real Estate Agencies handling a never ending list of ‘need to get done projects’ that are accumulating on the desks of the many Realtors  of (buyers/sellers) and for property management teams  throughout our coverage area and occasionally beyond our coverage area.

We work with Property Management Companies throughout the country that have commercial property interests in our coverage area and occasionally beyond our coverage area in Massachusetts.

Q. What can I expect from MR. Green Shirt?

A. You can expect a professional field technician with problem solving abilities with several years of experience in the construction trades to work on your home or business.
Upon arrival the field technician will ask to do a walkthrough with you while allowing the technician to get a sense of the scope of work that will be required to complete the job. This walkthrough will allow for the technician to work more efficiently saving both time and money for you.
If needed, the time during the walkthrough will allow for the technician to put a stock list together. The technician will then ask you to initial an area on the invoice commencing the physical start of the work.

Q. What are the rates for MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman services?

A. Our rates are on a ‘time and material’  basis which is by the hour  for each technician on site with a one hour minimum per technician, then half hour increments per technician, along with the costs of any material that is used on the job. The customer is expected to pay in full for all material and for the technicians time spent on any work on the same day and will be invoiced/billed for services rendered.

Q. What do you accept as payment?

A. We accept personal/business checks and cash, though we prefer not to deal in cash, but sometimes this is the only option that a customer has at their disposal. Note: When using ‘cash’ for a payment your invoice will specify this type for yours/our records.

Q. Do I need to be present while the work is being done?

A. No you do not have to be present while work is being done on your home or business.
MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman suggest that you make this decision with your level of comfort with the technician. This will always be your call/choice and will be respected.

Mr. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman is ‘Bonded and Insured providing our customers an added layer of comfort and protection.

Q. Do you guarantee your work?

A. Yes. Work is guaranteed for one year, starting from the date of original work completion and on any parts purchased by MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman.

Q. When does billing start and finish?

A. Billing starts upon technicians arrival and will end when invoice is handed to the customer for payment.

Q. Could I pick up any needed material for the work being done on my home or business?

A. Yes. By picking up materials ahead of time you are saving yourself money by not having the technician go out and pick it up for the job.

When any material is purchased by Mr. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman a material mark-up will be added to the cost of material.

Q. Do you remove construction debris from the work site?

A. No. We do not remove any of the debris from the work site (most debris will be of small quantity and that it could easily go into your trash bin for curbside pick up). This is your responsibility. For larger amounts, we could recommend to you a third party that would be able to do this for you for a fee.

Q. What are your business hours?

A. We operate between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday – Friday. Though, if extra time is needed we allow for the technician to make the decision to go past the 5:00 P.M. end time. Any remaining time left to complete the job will then be rescheduled with the office at a convenient time for you. On the return visit for any ongoing work the customer will be billed at a continuation rate which is a rate lower than the first hour billed.

Q. Does MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman work on weekends and holidays?

A. No scheduling of work is done on weekends or on major holidays ( on limited occasions MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman will work with existing clients during these times at a premium hourly rate ).

Q. Will you travel to my home to give a free estimates for work that is needed?

Due to the nature of a ‘handyman’ business, most times we are unable to schedule our time to visit  your home for a free estimate.

The majority of time spent on any given project could be between 1-8 hours making it not cost efficient for our business.

If you need an estimate for work to be done on your home ( normally this is done for larger projects such as kitchen / bathroom remodels, additions and others) and we have available time to visit your home, then we will do so.

Note: If the work that is needed, is of a considerable size and does not require a building permit. Please call the office and ask if we could come out to your home and give an estimate.

Q. What are the towns that MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman provide their services to?

A. The location of the towns are in the following areas in Massachusetts.

Attleboro, Bellingham, Braintree, Canton, Dedham, Dover, Foxborough, Framingham, Franklin, Hingham,
Holliston, Mansfield, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis, Milton, Natick, Needham, Newton, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Quincy, Randolph, Sharon, Sherborn, Walpole, Wellesley, West Roxbury,
Westwood, Weston, Weymouth, Wrentham

Note: MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman will occasionally offer services to bordering towns on the above list. Please call and ask.

Q. When should I call to set up an appointment for work to be done on either my home or on my business?

A. You should call during business hours Monday – Friday. Any time after business hours please leave a message with your name, address of work to be done, phone number, along with a brief description of work and a desired start date and time. We will return all phone calls in the order in which they are received on the following day. A call during the weekend will result in the office getting back to you during the day on Monday.

Q. Do you offer any discounts?

A. We offer a discount on work that is done for ‘3’ or more hours. Call office for more information.

We also offer a ‘Handicap, Active-Military and Retired Senior Discount’ of 10% off  all labor only. (Please ask when you call to set up an appointment).

Q. Are there other discounts available?

A. We also offer a one time 10% off labor on any referraof yours that does business with us. All referrals must be within our coverage area. Please refer to the above coverage area list.

As a ‘Thank You’, This 10% off of labor will then be applied to your invoice on our next visit to your home or business.

Please remind us when calling to set up an appointment with the name of your referral.

Q. I have pets in my home, what should I do?

A. When calling / email or using the contact form to set up an appointment, please tell the office and the on site technician when arriving at your home or business that you have pets. This will ensure that doors will be kept closed by the technician in his coming and going while working. Generally, most pets are well behaved and require very little preparation for work to be done in your home. On occasion some pets can get confused by someone new in their home and they might get defensive. If you feel that this might be the case, please keep your pet in another area of the home while work is being done on it. This will help keep your pet calm and happy.

Q. What can I do to make MR. Green Shirt- America’s Handyman visit to my home or business go smoothly?

A. Please inform the office of any work that is being done on your street that may impact the technicians ability to arrive at your home in a timely manner.
Please make sure that there will be adequate parking for a full size van.
If any outside water is to be used, for instance, while using a pressure washer, please make sure that the water is turned on at the spigot.
If exterior work is to be done, please make certain that all outside Ground Fault Outlets (GFI) are working. And if there are no outside outlets, please allow access to power from inside the home or business.

Again if work is to be done on the exterior of the house or business, such as cleaning out gutters and downspouts, please inform office of grade changes on your lawn on all sides of your house.

Q. What happens if I am not home on my scheduled appointment?

A. We schedule each appointment to accommodate our customers busy lifestyle and will consider ‘not being home’ a cancellation on your part and you will be billed a ‘no show fee’ of $75.00.

To avoid this cancellation ‘no show fee’ of $75.00, please make arrangements with office by giving a minimum 24 hour notice of any cancellations.

Note: exceptions within the 24 hour notice will be made for emergencies only. Please call and let the office know about an emergency before we send the technician out to your home or business. This will allow the office to send the technician on to another job.

Disclaimer

MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman has the option to refuse any work that is deemed ‘unsafe’ by the technician.

We have the option to stop work immediately if a customer is being difficult to work with and this can be decided by either the field technician or by the office. The customer will be invoiced up until that time and is expected to pay balance in full while the field technician gathers their tools and is getting ready to leave the property.

We have the option to cancel any scheduled appointments due to inclement weather (this normally would be applied to exterior work) and schedule with you for another time/date.

We have the option to cancel an existing scheduled appointment(s) due to emergencies.
All customer will be contacted by the office if an appointment is to cancelled by MR. Green Shirt – America’s Handyman.
